Summer, Summer, Sticky Summer!

Nothing says summer like a good, sticky, messy, fabulous, neighborhood watermelon feed!

My Olympians!

They are all gold medal athletes to me.

 

Hoping the Olympic competition primed them for fall soccer, swimming and volleyball (and thumb sucking)!

EIV and S are 12 days apart.
And were quite fond of each other that last time they were together.

My Heart Runneth Over with.......reality!

School is in session.
Lunches to be packed.
Backpacks to be unpacked and sorted through.
Activities have started.
Husband working nights.
Project coming to a head at work.
Laundry to put away (OK, that's just not gonna happen!)
Dishes to do.
Homework to check.
Books to read.
Groceries to buy (no idea WHEN that is going to happen!!)
Haircuts so needed.
Swim lessons to sign up for.
5am workouts (yes, you can jog and sleep simultaneously).
Pictures to take/print/deliver.
Thank yous to write.
Volleyball to buy.
Schedules to maintain.
Bedtimes to argue about.
Sleep to sacrifice.

Reality...just go away....
Summer come back please :)

She knows how to throw a party!

In late June, our family took a trip to San Francisco to celebrate my brother's graduation.

Unfortunately, due to scheduling conflicts we were unable to attend commencement; however we were there for the party!  And let me tell you what....my mom knows how to throw a party!

She thinks of every small little detail

And serves lots and lots of incredibly delicious food!!
(Yes, Mom....we had WAY TOO much rice casserole :)!!! Oh...it was so good though!)

We got to spend time with my sister, J, brother L and Papa Irv

And catch up with cousins, aunts and uncles



But the best thing of all, we got to be together....all of us.

Congratulations again to L!

Thanks Mom for hosting a great party!

And, WOW! was it great!!



A very long overdue Congratulations!

In June, my little brother graduated from high school.
He's a rock star.
Full ride scholarship to Loyola Marymount in LA.
And we got to celebrate with him.



We are all so very proud of him!!
Congratulations L!!

Total bummer

While in Stinson Beach, I spied a photographers dream background.
And I was desperate to capture EIV's 18-month shots in front of it.

His plans were clearly not the same as mine :)

Shhhhhhh...

I want this hung outside my front door

in my kitchen
outside my office
upstairs
downstairs
actually almost everywhere.

I would love to quiet the world right now....
slow it down....
so I can enjoy the things that really matter.
