We had a funny face contest the other night.
There were so very many to choose from that I'm having to split it into two separate posts.

Good Point

I try to stay clear of politics on my blog.
Not because I don't care or have a deep love for my country
More just because it disgusts me how politics have evolved and I want my blog to chronicle our lives for our children's sake...not riddled with opinions.

My brother sent me this editorial.
Thought is was extremely well written and worth sharing so I'm making an exception.

Lots of folks have been inquiring about Bob and what he's done this summer. 

So I figured it was time he did a guest appearance on the blog.

 

He's been a busy gnome.

In late June he helped put together a care package for our dear, dear friends who moved to Iowa.  Like, the OTHER SIDE of Iowa, not just across the river.

Bob even shed a tear.....and tried to go with them.

He's got a thing for Cheetos.

 

 

 He's helped the girls and EIV play Barbie.  Good thing he fits nicely in the house.



He supervised when our AWESOME, ROCK STAR nanny, Tatum helped the kids make their name signs.





 



 

 

 

He helped decorate and celebrate the 4th!

 

 

 

And he helped the girls and their dad wash  their cars.  What a generous gnome!

 

 

 

 

Needless to say, he hasn't quite enjoyed the glamorous summer that we promised him.

 

Thank Goodness WE have though!

 

Next time we go to the lake, swim, boat, fish, tube, jet ski, eat ice cream, golf, hit the zoo, bowl, play in the sprinkler, paddle boat, or bbq we need to do a better job of bringing Bob along for the ride.

 

 

 





Summer

Fireworks, Friends, Family and 10 years

Over the 4th of July weekend, we kept SUPER busy! (Duh, OF COURSE WE DID!!)

We started the weekend on Wednesday night lighting off fireworks with friends.
I think fireworks of this type are a complete waste of money, but the kids and the hubby sure didn't :)

And even Bob got in on the action!!

 

 

To be honest with you, the rest of the weekend was kind of a blur.

Ed and I celebrated our 10th anniversary with a quick trip to Nebraska City.  Sorry...no pictures of the love birds on their trip :)  We were too busy eating, talking and SLEEPING...without children in our bed! Woo Hoo!!

 

I did take a picture of this picture from our wedding day.  Don't we look so young :)  And aren't Ed's eyes AMAZING!!  I mean, even in a picture of a picture, they are gorgeous!!

 

 

 

We stayed at the Lied Lodge (which is AMAZING, BEAUTIFUL and QUIET!!) and golfed 18 holes Friday.  It was glorious!  Check it out:  http://www.liedlodge.org

 

Special, Super Shout-Out to my brother and sister-in-law who graciously cared for our kids so we could celebrate.  Meant the WORLD to us!!  THANK YOU!!

 

Then we joined my brother and his family for a bbq and more fireworks.  This time we left it up to the professionals though.  Big Bang Boom in Norfolk was great!  Ed said, and I quote, "think these were the best fireworks I've seen in my life".  Pretty cool.

 

 

It's the simply things in life.  Family, Friends, Fireworks, Freedom...

Life is good.

Really good.

As you know, it's been almost two weeks since I posted anything.

We have been busy with that little thing called LIFE!

You know, the life filled with full time work, three kids, lots of activities, fireworks, an NBC news story, a fundraiser, a holiday, an anniversary, a major sporting event, and lots and lots of lake time!?!?!?  Yeah...that LIFE!

I was attempting to devise a plan to catch up on my blog and couldn't figure out why I was having such a difficult time finding time to focus on the blog.
