The Jumper!

This is E's 2nd season of track.
She just loves the high jump!
It is so amazing to me.....what 9 year old LOVES the high jump.
I'm 37 and it still intimidates the heck out of me.

I'm so proud of her.
She is brave and very, very determined.
Check out her style!!

The final day...

April 3, 2014

That was the last day we were a family of 5.
That was the last day that I was a mother to 3.
It was the last day I looked like this:

There were a lot of 'lasts' on this day.

Some were welcome......like the last day of having to wear maternity clothes, the last day to be fat and miserable, the last day of work (for a while at least :), the last day of anticipation of what he would look like....

Some of the 'lasts' were not:
-the last day EVER that I'd wear maternity clothes
-the last day EVER that I'd be 9 months pregnant
-the last day EVER that I'd anticipate what my newborn would look like

Ironic isn't it.  That the very things I was looking forward to....were the same things I were not.

It was bittersweet and to be completely honest, I didn't handle it all too well.
The sadness associated with the 'finality' of it all weighed heavily on my heart.
I almost didn't want him to arrive.  I wanted to delay it all.  I didn't want it all to be 'over'.  forever.
What 9-month prego says that???  Down-right crazy, right???

Although I knew that once I saw his face, it would bring peace to my heart....I didn't want to go.
I know I'm an 'old lady' having a baby, but I sure wasn't ready to close this chapter of my life.

But it was inevitable.
And it was all good.
It was His Plan
And now my heart is at peace and filled with love.

I'm Baaaaaack!!

The hiatus is 'officially' over.
The newborn is 'officially' six weeks old.
Be prepared to be 'officially' bombarded with posts over the next few days/weeks.
I have lots of catching up to do!

Heart Heroes Family Night Out

I was blessed and honored to be in charge of hosting Heart Heroes, Inc. 2nd Annual Family Night Out event again this year.
This is such a fun event!!
We rent out the Omaha Children's Museum and have pizza, frozen yogurt and cookies....all for FREE...for CHD Heart Heroes, their families and our supporters.
It's really low key and relaxed and families just love it.

It fills my heart to see the smiles and joy on people's faces when they arrive and are playing in the museum.
We were also super blessed to have the head of Children's Hospital's Cardiology Department, one of the cardio-thoracic surgeons, a few cardiologist and nursing staff in attendance.  SUPER COOL!!  Many of our heart families call these wonderful people family, so it was great they were there supporting our families and Heart Heroes!!!

We had this amazing photo booth this year.  It was a hit!

The other BEST part of the evening is looking around and seeing what AMAZING friends and family that I have.  My friends volunteer their time and talents to Heart Heroes and this event to help it be a huge success!!
I seriously CANNOT THANK Nancy, Shellie, Katie, Katie and Dana enough for ALL they did that evening (and so many, many things PRIOR to that evening...especially Dana!).
They support they give our family, Heart Heroes, and most...to me....moves me to tears....literally.
My HEART RUNNETH OVER!!!

And finally....these 2 VERY FINE ladies....

Without these ladies, Heart Heroes would not exist.
They started it all.....and have opened their hearts and their organization to me.....allowing me to join them in this beautiful journey.    For that I'm blessed beyond words.
Love you girls.
