My heart runneth over Wednesdays.......

my heart runneth over.....with giggles, giggles and giggles.

We were at the store this weekend.
Just E and me.
Some good girl time.

She had brought a quarter with her that she found.
We made a bathroom break right when we got to the store.

E came out of the bathroom beaming with pride.
I mean really, super proud of herself, kind of beaming.
"Mom, I spent my money on you.  I bought you a gift"
And she handed me this:

It took every single ounce of restraint from me not to laugh.

I smiled and hugged her and thanked her profusely.
It's the thought that counts, right!?!?!?

Three ladies waiting

These three ladies wanted nothing more than to find the neighbors horses to feed them carrots.
We see these horses nearly every day, for the past four years.
Do you think they would be out on the one night in those four years that we came carrying food.
Not our luck.

We stood at the fence for like 30 minutes......'willing' those horses to come over to us.
Didn't work.
But we sure did enjoy an evening walk with Mimi
And now have memories to last a lifetime.

Of course!

When two little girls are bored:

Of course, they entertain themselves by drawing black marker all over their faces!

Thank goodness it was washable :)

My Heart Runneth Over Wednesdays!

my heart runneth over with....the answer:

Monday, March 19, 2012

A few nights ago, E ask if we could build a puzzle.
I was all over it!
I love me some puzzles and I love spending non-tv, non-electronics time with my girl.
And of course, she picked one of the most difficult ones we have.

It's not a very big one....but the only picture we have to work from is this one.....which is about 2x3 on the box.  Makes the ocean details a wee-bit difficult to see.

We dumped it out and began......

Despite missing a few pieces:

Finally....the next night.....Success:

Way to Go E!

My heart runneth over wednesdays....

my heart runneth over with ......blessings.
Blessings that come in the shape of cute girls and birthday parties.

Last weekend, we were lucky enough to spend with my brother and his family
to celebrate my  niece's 3rd party.

The party had cute girls:

An adorable family:

A princess cake:

A stinkin' cute diva:

A princess putting on her slippers and blowing out her candles:

And a bedroom full of balloons:

That was enjoyed the most by my little prince:

A new way to wash

After seeing it on Pinterest about a 10, 000 times,
Ed and I thought we would try to make our own laundry detergent.
Ed does at least 2-4 loads per day, which means we go through A LOT of detergent in a week.
All the posts we saw claimed that homemade detergent not only worked great, but was also super cost efficient.
What the heck....we thought....let's give it a go.

We found a variety of recipes, but settled on the one that had 3 ingredients:
-1 cup Borax
-1 cup Arm & Hammer Super Washing Soda
-1 bar of Fels Naptha laundry soap, shredded
Use 1 Tablespoon per load

I found an old ice cream bucket and shredded away.

Looks like cheese doesn't it!

My cousin suggested that we try vinegar as a fabric softner.  So we invested in a Downy Ball, because seriously WHO can catch the rinse cycle?!?!?

The vinegar has been magic.
I'm not kidding....our clothes, towels, etc have never been softer.  We LOVE it.
And we also love the detergent!
It works really well and one batch has lasted way over a month already....and will likely last for another.
I totally recommend trying it.

Happy Washing :)

Happy Birthday Sweet Boy!

We had the pleasure of celebrating my nephew's first birthday last weekend.
Unlike my little EIV, R LOVED his cake.
And I love this picture:
