Reader's Theatre
H's kindergarten class put on a show last week.
They narrated 'Click, Clack, Moo'.
She dressed up for the show:
And helped her classmates design the background scene:
And they started with a song to 'warm up' their voices.
I'm pretty convinced that 'green' is a heck of a lot easier to spell then 'purple'.
It was super cute.

Barking and other ailments.....
Ed and I were harshly awoken last night to barking.
Unfortunately it wasn't barking from our dog......rather from our son.
There was a moment of....'no way can that sound be coming from him??!?!"
Oh yes, much to our dismay, our little booger was diagnosed with croup this morning.
A steroid shot and breathing treatment later, he's doing much better.
Hoping that tonight goes a little better.....for all of our sakes.
The croup was just another ailment to add to our 2012 list.
What's so weird is that CHD babies are known to have compromised immune systems....so we expected all of these ailments (and did lots and lots of things to prevent them) in 2011.....but oh no....this strong, resilient young man didn't get sick at all....not one time prior to his OHS. (THANK THE LORD!)
Then welcome 2012.
Since the beginning of the year, he's got on the books:
-3 ear infections
-roseola (a viral rash)
-another random viral rash 2 weeks later
-an allergic reaction that gave him boils on his bottom
-and now, croup
-And something else I'm sure I've forgotten
And it is only April......

It's hard to believe
It's hard to believe that a mere 9 months ago, we had a beautiful baby boy that:
-wasn't even on the growth charts
-breathed rapidly and laboured
-didn't have the energy to play for more than 5 minutes and then needed a rest and/or nap
-required over 22 feedings a day which consisted of breast milk, formula and rice cereal
-caused his mom and dad lots and lots of anxiety and sleepless nights
-had the scrawniest legs I've ever seen
-seemed to have the doctors baffled (but of course not his mama!)
-despite all of that, always, and I mean ALWAYS, was smiling
It's hard to believe that a mere 7 months ago, to the day, that same beautiful baby boy, looked like this:
It's hard to believe that:
-a 9 month old is strong enough to undergo an open heart surgery
-a surgeon can patch holes inside a heart about the size of a walnut
-a baby can be released from the hospital only 3 days after OHS
-a baby can be sent home only on Ibuprofen for the pain
It's hard to believe that ONLY 7 months later, that our strong, resilient, amazing son:
Eats donuts and spaghetti and anything else thrown his way:
-wasn't even on the growth charts
-breathed rapidly and laboured
-didn't have the energy to play for more than 5 minutes and then needed a rest and/or nap

-despite all of that, always, and I mean ALWAYS, was smiling

Has enough energy for bikes rides with his sisters, swinging and goes so fast he runs right out of his shoes:
He's also:
-On the charts
-has no residual flow through his VSD
-has absolutely NO restrictions
-and is PERFECT!! Perfect in every way!
It may be hard to believe what can happen in 7 months.
But I do believe in God and I do believe in miracles, because I see one every day!

Coloring Eggs
Last week, during spring break we colored eggs.
I'm ALL about traditions and making memories with the kids.
So I began to set up (which took longer than the actual coloring of the eggs)

Then H insisted that I take a break from setting up for a photo shoot
She's so beautiful and quirky and silly and just awesome!
I LOVE her eyes.
Ok, ok....back to the eggs.......
Groovy Baby!!
And then after all that work, I completely forgot to take a picture of all of the finished eggs.
Bummer.
They were beautiful!
Of course, not as beautiful as my girls!
Happy Easter! (belated)
Christ is Risen!
Today we celebrate the Glory of our Risen Lord!
Please excuse the tardiness :)

Teeth
Before:
During:
And after.....
after 3 pulled teeth
H had a tooth that was infected that needed to come out
E's bottom teeth were getting crowded and needed lots of extra space
Dang! I have two incredibly brave little girls.
Neither flinched or even batted an eye.
You rock ladies!
